I have some rounds from nwt mint but they dont have any pitch after I blow on them they only give off the right sound if I tap it with my finger nail. Do you know why?

Regarding the GXL-24 PRO. I have found it to be accurate in determining the fineness of yellow gold. However, when testing on white metals, it gives me some inaccurate results. Have you found this to be the case as well?

1983 US cents are 98% zinc, in 1982 the mint changed from copper to zinc cents but both types were minted, 1981 cents (and earlier) are 98% copper

The archimedes method for testing gold silver and lead is too time consuming and messy. But it is the most accurate and still used by assayers.

Mustangjake2073,
Your gold tester is great for testing gold. However, testing silver would you not recommend performing a specific gravity test? If not, why?
